Custard-Dipped Farmhouse French Toast 🍞

Custard filled french toast

Ingredients:

  • 4 of our Pastured Corn-Free & Soy-Free Eggs

  • 1 cup Organic Whole A2 Milk

  • 1 tablespoon Pure Maple Syrup (plus more for serving)

  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

  • A tiny pinch of Salt

  • 6–8 thick slices of Sourdough or Challah Bread (slightly stale works best!)

  • 2 tablespoons Butter or Tallow for the skillet

Instructions:

  1. Whisk the Custard: In a wide, shallow bowl, thoroughly whisk together the eggs, A2 milk, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt until completely smooth.

  2. Soak the Bread: Melt a tablespoon of butter or tallow in a large skillet over medium heat. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, letting it soak for about 10–15 seconds per side so it absorbs the custard all the way through.

  3. Sear to Golden: Place the soaked bread into the hot skillet. Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, turning only when the bottom is beautifully golden-brown and slightly crisp.

  4. Serve Warm: Top with a pat of butter, a heavy drizzle of maple syrup, and a handful of seasonal orchard berries if you have them on hand!
